KyAEA Recognizes Jessica Snodgrass as Museum Art Educator of the Year

kyaea_award_2016The Kentucky Art Education Association (KyAEA) recognized Jessica Snodgrass as the 2016 Museum Art Educator of the Year at their annual conference. Snodgrass is the Marketing and Visual Arts Gallery Director at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center (SKyPAC) in Bowling Green, KY.

Each year, the KyAEA honors excellent art educators who have performed outstanding service through their commitment to arts advocacy in Kentucky schools, communities, and institutions. This year’s KyAEA conference was held on September 30 – October 1, 2016 at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY.

Kim Soule, past President of the KyAEA and Greenwood High School Art Educator, had this to say, “Jessica is instrumental in coordinating teachers and exhibits for all. She is a wonderful community educator and deserving of this award.”

“SKyPAC is proud to have Jessica as our Visual Arts Gallery Director. We feel she understands and appreciates the importance of the core values that the arts bring to enriching everyone’s lives,” said Rick McCue, SKyPAC Executive Director.

The Kentucky Art Education Association (KyAEA) is a nonprofit, all volunteer, non-salary art educational organization whose members are comprised of active and retired primary through 12th grade teachers, art advocates, higher education art students, and educators statewide. The mission of the KyAEA is to advance art education through professional development, service, advancement of knowledge, and leadership. The KyAEA is an affiliate of the National Art Education Association, headquartered in Reston, VA.
