To Our Valued Patrons:
As we surpass the halfway mark of 2020 I think we all should take a collective deep breath in acknowledging what we have already come through these past few months! If this year has a one-word theme, it would certainly be adapt.
That is exactly what we are trying to do at SKyPAC and the Capitol Arts Center. Despite a seemingly perpetual cycle of rescheduling, we are adapting to the times as best we can. With the recent board decision to keep the building closed through October 31, 2020, we continue to be at work in developing programming opportunities and events so once we are able to reopen, we will be able to hit the ground running. This includes our education staff, who are working to collaborate with regional schools as they too adapt to the ever-changing conditions around us.
While we have been unable to physically welcome you into our facilities, we have endeavored to stay connected through more frequent email communication. We hope they have helped keep the arts in your lives, especially as several have been confined to their homes.
I also extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who participated in our fiscal year-end pledge campaign last month. We were moved by all those who acknowledged the challenges SKyPAC currently faces and were willing to support the Arts. In total, we had over 125 answer the call to give as well as several others who graciously donated their unused tickets to SKyPAC. Please continue to consider opportunities to give as well as the difference you can make simply by donating your tickets or in turning them into a gift card for a future show.
Thanks to our generous donors and for all those who have lifted us up during this time. From multiple phone conversations with patrons showing compassion and understanding to the excitement of the mail runs this past month which brought additional thanksgiving and faith with every envelope or online gift received. We certainly have much to be grateful for and reason to hope.
Challenging times have a way of teaching us to appreciate things more. So as we embark on the second half of this year with just as much uncertainty as the past few months, we do so with an even greater appreciation of our patrons and hope for the continued support of this community, which we are so proud to be a part of. The arts connect us in ways that few other things have the power to. SKyPAC is honored to play a part in this process and we extend our gratitude to each of you for joining in our determination that “the show will go on” as we adapt in order to ensure that it does!
All the best,
