In this time of uncertainty as deliberations take place as to what is essential and non-essential, we are unveiling a recurring email series highlighting ESSENTIAL partners to SKyPAC and the Capitol Arts Center.
This week we “shine the spotlight” on SKyPAC’s Facility Benefactors. Through their giving, these individuals and organizations have not only helped make possible specific spaces and products, but have also established a legacy within SKyPAC that will endure for years to come. Alongside the Laura Goad Turner Charitable Foundation (highlighted last week) stands another foundation whose contributions are eclipsed only by the passion and dedication evidenced through the local philanthropists themselves.
The Haskins Foundation was established by Denny and Carol Wedge in honor of her parents, Morris and Dorothy Haskins. Supporting countless community initiatives through the foundation, Denny and Carol have been behind various causes associated with SKyPAC, including the naming of the Wedge Education Gallery. In addition, Carol was a founding board member of SKyPAC and the studio theatre was named in her honor in 2013. Though Carol sadly passed away in 2019, her legacy of support along with her husband through the Haskins Foundation, exemplifies the lasting impact we each can seek to provide to causes we care about.
